At Barrett Eye Care, we have assembled a team of doctors that is the finest in the greater Indianapolis area. Dr. Erik Barrett and Dr. Elliott Yolles are board certified medical doctors that treat complex eye diseases. Dr. Michael Fewell and Dr. Thomas Funk are board certified optometrists who also provide routine eye exams and screenings. All of our doctors provide comprehensive eye exams that include a history/physical, full refraction, motility exam, visual field check, slit lamp evaluation, intraocular pressure check and dilated fundus exam.
Every comprehensive eye exam will be a detailed evaluation that screens patients for common ocular diseases such as cataract, glaucoma, strabismus, macular degeneration and diabetes. You can be assured that once your comprehensive eye exam is completed, any ocular problems you may have will be uncovered and the appropriate treatment will be initiated. We recommend that all children have a baseline, comprehensive exam around the time they are starting kindergarten. We also recommend that young adults, ages 18-40 should have a comprehensive eye exam every 3 years. Adults ages 41-65 should have an eye exam every 2 years. And adults over the age of 65 should have a comprehensive eye exam on a yearly basis.
